Road mishap at Nagaon bypass

NAGAON, May 23: A woman was killed while her husband sustained serious injuries in a tragic road accident that occurred on the Borghat Bypass in Nagaon on Saturday afternoon.

According to sources, the accident took place following a collision between a dumper and a two-wheeler bearing registration number AS 02 AR 5879.

The registration number of the dumper could not be immediately ascertained.

The deceased was identified as Kabita Ingtipi (32), a resident of Anjukpani Boipani village in Karbi Anglong.

She died on the spot following the collision.

Her husband, Mayaram Singna (35), sustained grievous injuries and was reportedly battling for his life at the time of filing this report.

The couple’s six-month-old child also suffered minor injuries in the accident.

Personnel of Assam Police rushed to the spot soon after the incident and initiated an investigation into the accident. Further details are awaited.
