Four dead as SUV hits stationary truck in Assam

GUWAHATI, May 29: Four people, including a woman, were killed when their SUV hit a truck from behind in the Kamrup Metropolitan district of Assam on Friday, police said.

According to an official, the incident occurred on National Highway-27 at Tetelia near Sonapur in the afternoon.

“The SUV, carrying an Arunachal Pradesh number plate, was travelling to Guwahati when it hit a stationary truck from behind. The vehicle was being driven at a high speed, and the driver probably lost control,” he added. All four occupants of the SUV died on the spot, the official said, adding the identity of the deceased was being ascertained. (PTI)
