The initiative is being conducted simultaneously across various development blocks of the district to maximise outreach and facilitate access to Central and State Government welfare schemes for eligible beneficiaries.

The inaugural programme for Kokrajhar Development Block was held at the IRAGDAO Community Hall in Kokrajhar in the presence of MLA Rupam Roy, BTC MCLA Dhaneswar Goyary, Additional District Commissioner Banti Talukdar, Block Development Officers, heads of departments and other officials.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Rupam Roy said the Central Government, the Assam Government and the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Government have launched numerous welfare initiatives aimed at improving the lives of citizens.

He stressed that Jan Kalyan Shivir serves as an important platform for taking government schemes to the grassroots level and ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left out.

Speaking on the occasion, BTC MCLA Dhaneswar Goyary highlighted several citizen-centric initiatives, including healthcare programmes such as the HPV vaccination drive, medical assistance cards and other support mechanisms designed to assist people in need.

Earlier, Additional District Commissioner Banti Talukdar delivered the welcome address and described the Jan Kalyan Shivir as a mission-mode initiative aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

She highlighted the government’s commitment to the empowerment of the four key segments of society—Garib (poor), Yuva (youth), Mahilayen (women) and Annadata (farmers).
