JORHAT, Sept 12: Hemanta Gogoi, who was working as a waiter in a Dzukou Valley restaurant had allegedly fled his working place after stealing a scooty on the night of September 9. The waiter also looted money after breaking the cash box of the restaurant and took the mobile phones of other waiters. The notorious thief was arrested in Dibrugarh on Monday.
Police sources said that Gogoi, a resident of Khutiapota, Khumtai Kamargaon, had reportedly gone to Rajgarh in Dibrugarh to marry a girl on the scooty.
A source said that the girl after coming to know about his illegal activities tricked him and took him to the Borbam police outpost and handed him over to the police.
