GOSSAIGAON, Sept 30: Sensation prevails in Gossaigaon sub-division in the district of Kokrajhar following the unknown miscreants open firing at one Jahirul Sheikh (50) from point blank range when he was one his way to home Oxiguri from Telipara Bazar in the evening on Thursday.
As per the information available here, the victim runs his family by riding a horse cart and was on his way to home in Oxiguri with an associate on his bicycle when the miscreants opened fire on his right hand.
Eyewitness said that the victim miraculously escaped as the bullet passed through his left hand and sustained serious bullet injury.

After the incident, a team of police personnel from Gossaigaon police station led by Amar Jyoti Bailung, O/C, including Sanjay Kumar Rai, I/C, Simultapu police out post and Nabanita Sharma, SDPO Gossaigaon reached the spot and controlled the situation.
The victim was taken to RNB Civil Hospital, Gossaigaon for treatment and then referred to Kokrajhar Civil Hospital for better treatment.
Police have started an investigation in this matter to find out the miscreants associated in the incident.
