Man Arrested With 606 Gram Of Heroin In Manipur

IMPHAL, Oct 11: Police in Manipur’s Kakching district have arrested an alleged drug peddler and confiscated 606 gram of heroin powder, in an operation, police said on Monday.

A team of police commandos attached with the Kakching district police arrested the alleged drug peddler identified as Akhup of Tengnoupal district, the police further said.

The police commandos arrested the person during a search operation at Pallel Maning Leikai.

Upon checking the person, the personnel detected two soap cases containing the contraband drug from his possession.

He was interrogated and revealed that he had concealed 46 more soap cases of the drug in his place.

Immediately, the team raided his residence and seized the remaining 46 soap cases containing heroin powder.

On weighing, the drug was found to weigh approximately 606 grams in total, the source said.

The arrested persons along with the seized articles were handed over to Kakching police station for taking up further necessary legal action, the police added. (NNN)
