DIPHU, Oct 19: Karbi Anglong deputy commissioner Madhumita Bhagowati held a meeting with the law-and-order authority and district administration officials to review the preparedness for the Diwali celebration on October 24 to avoid any untoward incidents.
The meeting was held at the DC office conference hall and was attended by SP, Karbi Anglong, Sanjib Kumar Saikia. The DC urged the law-and-order personnel to be prepared and to keep a close watch during the Diwali celebration so that no anti-social elements create problems by taking advantage of the celebration.

SP, Saikia also said that proper arrangements will be made so that the public can celebrate Diwali with fun and fervour without any trouble. There will be police on duty to check for any untoward incident that may occur.
The DC has also wished the people of Karbi Anglong a fun filled Diwali in advance.
