GUWAHATI, Dec 20: Casio India Company in partnership with the government of Assam commenced the latest edition of its CSR program ‘Gyan Ki Roshni’ for this financial year.
This initiative supports underprivileged government school children by providing them with free Casio scientific calculators for a better understanding of mathematics and scientific calculations. The calculator distribution event was held in presence of the minister of Education, government of Assam, Ranoj Pegu; adviser to the government of Assam Education department Prof (Dr) Nani Gopal Mahanta; managing director, Casio India Co. Pvt. Ltd., Hideki Imai; among other dignitaries.
Speaking about the initiative, Hideki Imai, managing director of Casio India said, “Casio is committed to boosting scientific curiosity among students as part of its vision for India’s future and we want to do our best to ensure that students from underprivileged backgrounds are not left behind.
The purpose of the ‘Gyan Ki Roshni’ initiative is to reach communities and geographies across the width of the country and equip them with technology that will spur learning. The Classwiz scientific calculators being provided to schools as part of this initiative will enable students to spend more time on understanding concepts than doing time-consuming, complex calculations thereby making them more future ready.”
