KOKRAJHAR, Feb 11: “We (UPPL) condemn the malicious media statement of BPF president Hagrama Mohilary, against our party president and CEM Pramod Boro wherein he alleged that Hitesh Basumatary, president of the Mushalpur district  BPF was arrested for keeping illegal deadly weapons.

In a press statement issued to the media on Saturday, the UPPL said, “the truth is that Hagrama Mohilary and company always propagated violence. He and his team are hand-in-globe in free proliferation of illegal weapons in the region. So far, by misusing political powers, he and his team has been staying away from the hands of law. “However now, the law of the land has taken its own course. Each and every culprit — irrespective of their position now — shall face the tough face of law.  We request the law-enforcing agencies to spare no one involved with such crimes against peace and humanity, bring each one of them under the purview of law,” stated the BPF.

“It is a known fact that UPPL president and CEM, BTR, for almost last two decades, has relentlessly devoted himself to bring peace in the region by launching the ‘Violence Free Society’ campaign. He was the main force behind the campaign for ‘Illegal Weapons Free Bodoland’ campaign that still echoes in the nook and corner of BTR. Each and every citizen of BTR is aware that Pramod Boro is the harbinger of peace in the region,” said the press statement.
