TAYPA Stages Demonstration, Demands ST Status

SIVASAGAR, March 13: Tai Ahom Yuva Parishad(TAYPA), Sivasagar district unit led by its central committee general secretary Diganta Tamuly, staged a two hour demonstration in front of Sivasagar deputy commissioner’s office demanding urgent initiative from the government on the ST status demand by six indegenous group including Ahoms.

Tamuly told the media that the BJP government deceived the people of the six community in 2014 and will be paid back in equal measure if it fails to respect the aspirations of the Ahom community.

The demonstration was attended by Suraj Gogoi,district president, Dipak Chetia ,working president and Jayanta Borgohain, general secretary.
