NABARD Sponsored Agarbatti Making Training Benefit Participants

NAGAON, March 15: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Assam Regional Office, Guwahati sponsored the conduct of Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) training on agarbatti and coil making activities for over a fortnight at Mochaka village hall near Dhalpukhuri in Hojai through the implementing agency – Bishnujyoti Janakalyan Samity (BJS) recently.

The valedictory and certificate distribution of the training programme was held here on Tuesday last. DDM-NABARD Rajendar Perna, Joydeep Das, LDM, Mousam Bora, chief manager of SBI, Lanka and Sudipta Hasnu, BPM, ASRLM, Paresh Rajbongshi and others were present in valediction as well as certificates distribution on Tuesday last here.

While addressing the occasion, Rajendar Perna, DDM, NABARD stated that the MEDP was being organised to bridge the skill deficits and to facilitate optimisation of production activities of various SHG members.

In addition to training sessions on record and book keeping, enterprise management, business dynamics, the MEDP training also covers the practical sessions regarding different raw materials, mixing of various chemicals, Neem, Herbal, Charcoal, Wood powder etc. in proper proportions, drying, making of bamboo sticks, packaging, marketing, Perna asserted further saying that the training had upgraded the technical and entrepreneurial skills of the trainees so that they could continue the activity and start their micro units for better earning.

During the session, the participants also shared their experience and learning during the training. Besides, they displayed the raw incense sticks prepared by them during training period, a release added.
