DIPHU, March 16: The almost continuous police checking against unsafe riding of two-wheelers and without helmets have taken an unexpected turn in Diphu, Karbi Anglong. The police in Diphu have taken to checking helmets on the arterial roads in town in the evening.

However it has taken an unexpected turn for those who are following rules- those riding with helmets or at least it was for a young businessman in Diphu.
A young businessman, who does not want to give out his name, just shut his establishment selling motorcycle helmets and accessories and found that his helmet kept hanging on his scooter was gone. The scooter was parked by the roadside of Diphu Manja Road.
On checking his CCTV footage he found that it was at 6:45 pm that two men riding a motorcycle stopped by his shop, turned around and the pillion rider pick up the helmet from the scooter and were gone in seconds.
