NAGAON, March 19: In special patronage of Indian Council of Historical Research, department of history, Nowgong Girls’ College in association with Bharatiya Itihaas Sangkalon Somitee, Asom Pranta is going to organise a two-day long national seminar on March 21 and March 22 at the college here. The topic of the seminar is ‘Role of women in North East India in Freedom Movement: Some untold stories’.

Noted historian of the state Rajen Saikia will attend the seminar as the chief keynote speaker while Lokendra Singha, vice chancellor of Manipur University will address the occasion as the resource person.
Besides, Hemanta Dhing Mazumdar, general secretary of Akhil Bhartiya Itihaas Sangkalon Yojana, Professor Sanjeev Goswami and Gajendra Adhikary will also be present in the seminar.
Over 30 researchers as well as scholars and other participants will present their respective research papers and documents on the topic during the sessions in those two days, a release stated here.
