MARGHERITA, March 20: A joint excise arm raid of Margherita and Digboi excise party along with the assistance of Margherita Police was conducted on Sunday night at Dehing Tea Estate, Margherita New line, railway gate Dehing, Margherita Tea Estate and Namdang TE under Margherita police station of Tinsukia district.

Total 3 cases were detected and illicit liquor approximately 25 litres were seized and destroyed.

In this connection two persons namely Jibon Serpa, aged about 44 years and Tenzing Serpa aged 24 years arrested under section 53(1)(a) of AE Act 2000 as amended.

Both the accused persons were produced before the SDJM Court Margherita and then sent both of them to judicial custody for 14 days.
