DIPHU, Mar. 22: President of Karbi Students Association (KSA- Thangsing Timung), Thangsing Timung came down heavily on the organising secretary of All Party Hill Leaders Conference (APHLC), Kursing Timung for his remark on Karbi Anglong and North Cachar Hills State Demand Committee (KANCHASDCOM) and its allied organisations concerning the demonstration to be held in New Delhi Jantar Mantar on March 23 for implementation of Autonomous state of Article 244 (A) of the Indian constitution by KANCHASDCOM.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday at KSA office, Rongnihang, KSA president Timung said, “APHLC party man Kursing Timung on his Facebook post wrote that “KSA and KANCHASDCOM are going to Delhi for a picnic party; KSA and KANCHASDCOM are the agents of RSS and BJP and KSA is an anti autonomous state demand committee”. The statement of Kursing Timung is condemned and he should tender an apology otherwise there will be misunderstanding between the KSA and APHLC.”

Timung further said, “It has been four decades that KANCHASDCOM has struggled for autonomous state. The central government has been keen towards the demand of the people of Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao for implementation of Article-244(A) {Autonomous State} of the Indian Constitution. So, we are holding a sit-in demonstration in New Delhi on March 24.”

Timung clarified that KSA is a neutral student body and is not in favour of any political party. When there arises any issue of the community KSA is always there and stands by it.
