HAFLONG, April 3: Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Agartala Sector, IGAR (East) felicitated family members of Late Joy Bhadra Hagjer on occasion of 109th birth anniversary to honour his contributions towards the people of Dima Hasao District on April 2.
The representatives of the Assam Rifles had a formal interaction with families of Late Joy Bhadra Hagjer who was a renowned freedom fighter, social reformer and patriotic figure from Dima Hasao who rallied the local masses against the British during the independence struggle.

After the interaction, the family members offered a floral tribute on the statue of Hagjer. Following which a felicitation ceremony was organised by the Haflong Battalion and a memento of Assam Rifles was presented to the family members of Joy Bhadra Hagjer as a token of remembrance for his contributions to the society.
The family members of Hagjer conveyed their profound gratitude and deep hearted thanks for organising the felicitation ceremony. These kinds of initiatives by Assam Rifles further strengthen the existing bond between local public and security forces and pave the way for many such noble endeavours in future.
