GUWAHATI, April 5: Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria administered the oath of office to Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta IPS (Retd.) as state chief information commissioner at a ceremony held at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan today.

Earlier, chief secretary to the govt. of Assam, Paban Kumar Borthakur sought the permission of the Governor to start the proceedings of the ceremony.

The ceremony was attended among others by advisor education prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, commissioner and secretary, administrative reforms and training Shantanu P Gotmare, state information commissioner Samudra Gupta Kashyap, DC Kamrup(M) Pallav Gopal Jha, commissioner of police Diganta Barah, and a host of  senior officers of the state government.
