Protest At Thelamara Over Manisha Boro Death Issue

TEZPUR, April 18: Sonitpur ABSU supported by Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Tribal Sangha, Bathou Mahasabha, AASU, AARSU and some other organisations took out a protest rally in Thelamara area under Thelamara PS and Thelamara revenue circle in Sonitpur on Monday demanding apprehension of the other accused of the incident of the tragic death of Manisha Boro, an employee of Punjab National Bank,  Tezpur Branch .

The mass protest rally participated by several thousands of people started from Thelamara Jyoti service passed through NH-15 and culminated at Thelamara revenue circle wherein a protest meeting was also held. Among others the protest programme was attended by ABSU president, Dipen Boro, Bodo Sahitya Sabha’s senior leader Jwilen Mochahari, Liladhar Boro, and Bhaskar Nath from AASU.

It is to be mentioned here that one Rechard Doley, an employee of Tezpur PNB has been already arrested in connection with the Tezpur PS case No-362/23US376(D)/302-IPC and on five day police remand. The other accused Debasis is reported still untraced.  Later demanding the immediate apprehension of the other accused, ABSU president Dipen Boro urged to investigate the incident by CID and give exemplary punishment to the accused and said that they would continue their movement until the victim’s family gets justice.  He also demanded the PNB authority to give employment to the next kin of the family as the deceased was the only source of income for the poor family.
