GUWAHATI, April 21: Jaipur is now recognized as a medical tourism hub with Mahatma Gandhi Hospital Jaipur becoming very popular among foreign as well as domestic patients for its quality services and most affordable treatment cost. Swaranakar further informed that in the last 22 years, more than 1 crore 75 lakh patients in this 1450-bedded hospital got the benefit of various specialty services including super specialty services like cancer, liver, urology, nephrology, neurology, neurosurgery, heart, and critical care, etc. All types of transplant services like liver, kidney, bone marrow, heart, pancreas, etc. are being provided here for Government beneficiaries, ESI, CGHS, ECHS, and mediclaim beneficiaries. It is noteworthy that the hospital team along with the office bearers of business organizations of Gauhati organized an awareness program related to liver health and also a scientific conference for doctors.

At the conference, the Head of the Department of Hepatology, Dr. Vivek Anand Saraswat said that healthy living is a sign of better health. Liver malfunction also increases the chances of diseases like blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, etc. Due to changing food habits and alcohol consumption, cases of liver cirrhosis are coming to the fore. It should not be ignored and treated at the primary stage. A liver Clinic is being operated for liver patients in Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, through which patients with liver cirrhosis and liver failure are being treated as well as liver transplant management.
