Guwahati, April 26: Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport has launched some remarkable new initiatives to ensure passengers’ convenience. Airport’s new authority is at the forefront of introducing various services for passengers’ convenience. In continuation of the same, the airport has started some new initiatives to place XBIS machines arranged in parallel and sequential ways to cater the free movement of departing passengers at the check in baggage screening area. A 24 hours’ chiller plant operation started as and when required due to night aircraft operations. The Airport has launched a passengers-centric initiative of self-check-in through a common use (CUSS) self-service machine. Under the initiatives, the CUSS machines are placed outside of the terminal and deployed a trained team of CSEs to help passengers to print their boarding passes and check in their luggage. Now passengers can save time and can proceed towards security checks faster. The LGBI team intends to provide best in class services to the passengers and enhance their customer service experience. LGBI team has developed a robust system of deep cleaning and regular quality check of across all areas of terminal, airside and city side areas on regular intervals. Customer service team is deployed at various touch points of the terminal to assist the passengers and queue combing. To engage the passengers, team LGBI is organising cultural events on regular intervals. To enhance passengers’ experience, a lot of new F&B and retail outlets have been started by the LGBI commercial team.

The most remarkable initiation is to place trolleys around the baggage belt in the arrival hall of the terminal. A dedicated customer service executive team has been deployed for placement of the trolleys. The CSE team places the trolleys at a certain distance around the conveyor belt even before the passengers arrive.
