DIPHU, May 3: The chief executive member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang called upon the Karbi Students Association (KSA) to unite to work for the betterment of the society. The CEM was attending as the chief guest at the Open Session of the third day of the 50th Annual General Conference of KSA-Inglongpho at Khorsing Terang Jutang Aklam, Dillai. The KSA is holding its 50th annual general conference from May 1 to 4 at Dillai.
The CEM on the occasion said, “The KSA should not incline towards any political party. They should be neutral. KSA should keep check and balance to point out the mistakes of what the government is doing. I urged all factions of KSA to come together and be united. If the KSA is one, it will be stronger.”
The chief executive member further said the habit of blaming others and pointing out others’ mistakes should stop. As Karbis should understand others, share what he/she knows and work together.
On the continuous effort by Karbi Anglong NC Hills Autonomous State Demand Committee (KANCHASDCOM), KSA and Karbi So-arlo Amei (KARSA) on autonomous state demand the CEM said, “Led by Ajit Timung the KANCHASDCOM, KSA and KARSA has not stop for demanding of autonomous state under article 244(A) of the Indian constitution. Timung is one of the leaders who have sacrificed for autonomous state demand. He is not a political leader nor interested in contesting elections. He is dedicated only to the autonomous state.”
Tuliram also said some people make jokes of them on Facebook. Instead of making fun of them, people should instead support them for the cause of autonomous state movement.
