SIVASAGAR, May 8: CPI Sivasagar District Council held a total of ten mass awareness campaigns with the slogan – ‘BJP hatao, desh bachao’ as part of the party’s nationwide programme from May 2 to May 14 against the ruling BJP government.
Kanak Gogoi, district secretary of the party, in a release said here that the state BJP government failed to implement the pre-election commitments made to the people of the state.
“While they talked of ‘Sab ka Vikash’, they implemented the ‘Vikash’ programme of the rich capitalists and their political patrons only,” he said.
The release also said that the prices of all essential commodities are skyrocketing while the number of jobless youths is increasing fast. Had the government been committed to providing jobs for two crores per year, 18 crore youths would have got jobs by now.
Kanak Gogoi, while addressing the public meetings in Samaguri, Halwating, Borahibari, Bamunpukhuri, Lalimchiga, Charing, KoibartaChariali, Morabajar, Borsila, and Khanamukh said that the BJP’s agenda of ‘one nation, one country, one culture’ will never be allowed to be implemented in India which is known for its cultural variety. He alleged that the BJP and its conglomerate wings did have no contribution to India’s independence. The 27 political parties in opposition are about to form a coalition soon which may ultimately bring the ruling party to its knees, the CPI release states.
