HAMREN, April 29: A career counselling programme was organised by the district administration, West Karbi Anglong on April 25 in collaboration with India Air force (IAF) team lead by Wing Commander S Shanmugam, Commanding Officer 11 Airmen Selection Centre, Guwahati along with Sergeant Ajit Singh and Sergeant Sunil Belwal.

The counselling programme which was held at Hamren Girls High School was attended by teachers and students in presence of the deputy commissioner, ACS, Krishna Baruah. The IAF team carried out dynamic outreach for students through conduct of interactive career counselling sessions.

Approximately, 1000 students attended the counselling programme and participated enthusiastically. Diverse questions related to Indian Air Force Examination and career were asked by the students to the Air Force personnel.

The initiative would go a long way in increasing the awareness of youth towards employment opportunities in the Indian Air Force. Due to the meticulous planning of district administration, the IAF team could reach out to students in the interior areas of the district. Moreover, the response of the students was very positive towards joining the IAF.
