Nagaon organises mega blood donation camp

NAGAON, June 15: The 8th Assam Battalion of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), operating under the Army wings of the Tezpur group, organised a remarkable blood donation camp to commemorate ‘World Blood Donor Day’. The event took place at Nowgong College Swahid Anil Bora Auditorium in Nagaon on Thursday.

NCC cadets from senior divisions and senior wings of various colleges, including ADP College, Nowgong College, Nowgong Girls College, Dr BKB College, Raha College, Kampur College, and GNDG Commerce College NCC units, enthusiastically donated blood, embracing the motto of

Save life, give blood’.

The program saw the presence of notable personalities such as Col Amar Sing, Sena Medal, commanding officer of the 8th Assam Battalion NCC, Nagaon; Lt Col Sukhdev Singh, administrative officer; Dr Mridul Kr Hazarika, principal in-charge of ADP College; Dr Ranjit Majinder of Nowgong College; Dr Lakhidhar Das, superintendent of the Health department, Nagaon; Lt Ghanashyam Taid; senior medical officer Dr Chandan Sarma, and others. Major Bhupal Kalita, Lt Dr Jalin Chetia, and the medical staff of Nagaon Health department worked diligently as the convenors of the program.

The ceremony commenced with the ceremonial lighting of a lamp by the esteemed guests and dignitaries. Additionally, the cadets from Nagaon colleges showcased cultural performances, including Bagarumba and Tiwa folk-dance, entertaining the audience with their talent and dedication.

The event aimed to promote the noble cause of blood donation and create awareness about its significance. The successful blood donation camp organised by the 8th Assam Battalion NCC in Nagaon serves as a testament to the selflessness and generosity of the participants and highlights the importance of contributing to saving lives through blood donation.
