ITANAGAR, Sept 15: In an effort to enhance agricultural practices and promote better livestock management, a group of 21 farmers from Shi-Yomi district recently participated in a five-day exposure tour to Upper Shillong and Guwahati.
The initiative, sponsored by the Veterinary Department, was aimed at equipping farmers with practical knowledge and advanced techniques related to cattle rearing, dairy development, and improving cattle productivity.
The exposure tour took place from September 10 to September 14 and provided the participants with an opportunity to interact with experts, study innovative farming practices, and observe modern dairy facilities.
During the visit, the farmers toured several cattle farms and dairy units in Shillong and Guwahati, where they learned about state-of-the-art equipment, feed management, disease control, and breeding methods designed to enhance livestock health and yield.
