PASIGHAT, Nov 2: The 5th India Reserve Battalion (IRBn), Pasighat in collaboration with East Siang District Police observed National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) 2025 at the Battalion Headquarters to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.
The event, held under the national theme “Ek Bharat, Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” included a “Run for Unity” mini marathon with 5 km, 2.5 km and 1.5 km categories, engaging over 190 participants, including students, women and IRBn personnel. The marathon aimed to promote the spirit of unity in diversity and honour Sardar Patel’s role in national integration.
A prize distribution ceremony followed, and participants received certificates of participation. Superintendent of Police, East Siang, addressed the gathering, emphasising Patel’s contributions and urging citizens to uphold unity, integrity and self-reliance as pillars of a strong and progressive India. The program reinforced the message that India’s strength lies in its unity amidst diversity.
