BOLENG, Oct 9: The Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh, Manish Kumar Gupta, along with the Director General of Police, Anand Mohan, and several Commissioners and Secretaries of the state government, visited Boleng in Siang District on Thursday to review the District Development Report (DDR) and evaluate the progress of ongoing developmental initiatives across the district.
The visit underscored the state administration’s commitment to ensuring effective governance and accelerating socio-economic development in all regions of Arunachal Pradesh.
The day began with a plantation drive at the Boleng Circuit House, where the Chief Secretary and DGP actively participated in planting saplings, demonstrating a hands-on approach to promoting environmental sustainability and raising awareness on afforestation.
The initiative was well received by district officials and community members present at the event, emphasising the importance of green initiatives alongside developmental activities.
The dignitaries were welcomed by Tayi Taggu, Deputy Commissioner of Siang, who extended a warm reception to all visiting officials, accompanied by senior district officers and Heads of Departments, reflecting a coordinated effort to host the high-level delegation.
Following the plantation activity, a comprehensive review meeting was held at the Circuit House.
The meeting was chaired by the chief secretary and attended by the DGP, Commissioners, Secretaries, and other senior district officials.
A detailed PowerPoint presentation was showcased, highlighting the district’s current developmental status, ongoing infrastructure projects, healthcare and education initiatives, rural development programs, agricultural schemes, and tourism-related activities.
The presentation provided an in-depth assessment of project implementation, identifying areas of strength as well as challenges that require targeted attention.
During the deliberations, Gupta reviewed the District Development Report in detail, providing guidance on strengthening project execution, improving coordination among various departments, and enhancing monitoring mechanisms to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
He stressed the importance of adopting a holistic approach to development that balances infrastructure growth with social welfare, environmental conservation, and citizen-centric governance.
A key focus of the discussions was the “Seva Aapke Dwar” platform, which the Chief Secretary emphasized as a critical tool to extend government services and welfare schemes to every household, particularly in the remote and difficult-to-reach areas of Siang District.
He urged district officials to leverage this platform fully to ensure transparency, accessibility, and accountability in the delivery of government programs.
Anand Mohan, DGP, also highlighted the role of law enforcement in supporting developmental activities and maintaining peace and order, ensuring that progress in infrastructure and welfare initiatives is complemented by security and safety for the local population.
The session allowed for detailed interactions between the visiting officials and district department heads, fostering an environment of collaborative problem-solving and strategic planning for future projects.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Jacob Tabing, Assistant Commissioner, Boleng, who expressed gratitude to the visiting dignitaries for their guidance, encouragement, and continued support in advancing Siang District’s development agenda.
He highlighted that the inputs provided by the Chief Secretary and DGP would greatly assist in refining implementation strategies and ensuring that developmental benefits reach every section of the community.
The visit by the chief secretary and DGP marks a significant step in reinforcing the state government’s commitment to sustainable development, effective governance, and inclusive growth in Siang District, while inspiring local officials to achieve higher standards of efficiency, coordination, and service delivery.
