CM Khandu congratulates Joram Aniya for appointment as full-time Niti Aayog member

ITANAGAR, May 3: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has congratulated academician Joram Aniya for being appointed as a full-time member of the Niti Aayog, saying her engagement will bring valuable insights into national policymaking.

The Centre on Saturday appointed Aniya and scholar-author R Balasubramaniam as full-time members of the Niti Aayog, taking the total number of such members in the government think tank to seven, along with a vice-chairman.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the chairman of the Niti Aayog.

In a post on X, Khandu said, “An eminent academician, writer, and folklorist, Aniya has made pioneering contributions to Hindi literature and the preservation of Nyishi culture. Her remarkable journey as the first woman to earn a PhD in Hindi from the Nyishi community reflects dedication, scholarship, and a deep commitment to society.”

The chief minister said her rich experience in education, research, and grassroots engagement will bring valuable insights to national policy, particularly in strengthening indigenous knowledge systems and inclusive development.

Khandu also thanked Modi for appointing Aniya to the Niti Aayog.

“I also express my sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for recognising such distinguished talent from the Northeast and entrusting her with this important national responsibility.”

Terming Aniya’s appointment as a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh and the entire Northeast, Khandu wished her success in this prestigious role and continued service to the nation. (PTI)
