NAMSAI, June 10: The East Siang District Administration on Monday organized a warm and befitting farewell ceremony at the DC’s Conference Hall to honour the outgoing Deputy Commissioner, Tayi Taggu (APCS, Administrative Grade), who is set to assume his new role as Director of Rural Development in Itanagar.
The programme was marked by emotional tributes from administrative officers, departmental heads, and staff, who praised Taggu for his exemplary leadership, calm demeanor, and administrative excellence. Colleagues lauded his approachable nature, humility, and visionary guidance, which significantly contributed to East Siang’s development across multiple sectors.
Superintendent of Police, East Siang, Pankaj Lamba, described the outgoing DC as a “guiding light” who ensured law and order with wisdom and composure. Additional Deputy Commissioner (HQ) Tatling Pertin commended his inspiring leadership and ability to build strong rapport with both the public and stakeholders.
Taggu’s impactful tenure was recognized at the national level, having received the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration. Under his leadership, East Siang emerged as one of the best-performing districts among hilly states and earned the distinction of being the only state-level recipient of the Gold Medal in Public Administration in 2022.
In his farewell address, Taggu extended heartfelt gratitude to the people of East Siang, all stakeholders, administrative officers, HoDs, the CEO of Pasighat Smart City, and every staff member. He attributed the district’s achievements to teamwork and collective commitment.
He emphasized the importance of positivity, continuous learning, and self-discipline in public service, stating: “To lead an office, one must first lead oneself.”
Reflecting on his tenure, Taggu noted with satisfaction that the majority of Smart City projects were completed, thanks to the dedicated efforts of CEO Manjuli Komut and her team. He expressed pride in laying the foundation for a future-ready and vibrant Smart City Pasighat, benefiting both the district and the state.
Noteworthy accomplishments during his three-year tenure include the successful implementation of E-Office, promoting a paperless governance model, and significant progress on the Murkongselek–Pasighat Railway Project, part of the Northeastern Railway Connectivity initiative.
The event concluded with a standing ovation and warm wishes for Shri Tayi Taggu as he embarks on his new assignment, leaving behind a legacy of innovation, dedication, and public service.
