The event, which also marked the commencement of a day-long Youth Convention, was held at the Mission’s serene and picturesque campus, and witnessed the participation of over 250 young individuals from Tirap and Longding districts.

The intricately designed decorative arch, Vidya Dwar, also called the “Gateway to Knowledge”, was inaugurated at Gate No 10 of the Mission campus.

According to an official statement, this new architectural addition complements the Mission’s spiritual and aesthetic environment, which already includes statues, gardens, and symbolic structures.

Speaking at the inauguration, Minister Wangki Lowang commended the efforts of Ramakrishna Mission in promoting values-based education across the tribal regions of Arunachal Pradesh.

He called upon students to pursue academic excellence while cultivating humility, discipline, and a spirit of service.

He emphasised that the Ramakrishna Mission’s work in these remote regions not only builds character but also strengthens the nation’s unity and social fabric.

Swami Suhitananda ji, in his spiritual discourse, expounded on the concepts of Para Vidya (spiritual knowledge) and Apara Vidya (worldly knowledge), and emphasized the need to develop both intellect and heart for a balanced and meaningful life.

He highlighted that true education lies in harmonising external knowledge with inner development, allowing individuals to lead purposeful lives rooted in wisdom and compassion.

The inauguration was followed by the Youth Convention, held at the Vivekananda Sabhagriha on campus.

The convention served as a vibrant platform for youth to engage in thought-provoking discussions, paper presentations, and cultural performances.

Participants demonstrated keen interest in themes revolving around youth empowerment, cultural identity, and the role of young citizens in nation-building.

During the convention’s inaugural session, Minister Wangki Lowang spoke candidly to the youth, drawing from his personal experiences to stress on the virtues of cleanliness, punctuality, and humility.

He said these values are not only central to personal development but are also foundational to the country’s progress. Swami Suhitananda ji addressed the young audience again during the session, this time invoking a powerful analogy to stress the importance of teamwork and unity.

He noted that in the realm of cooperation, the combined outcome of sincere individuals is often greater than the sum of their parts.

He urged the youth to cultivate patience, perseverance, and spiritual depth, reminding them that service to humanity is service to the divine.

Distinguished speakers from various parts of the country also addressed the gathering, adding valuable perspectives to the discourse on national development and youth responsibility.

The day-long programme left participants inspired and energised, reaffirming the importance of character-based education and the enduring relevance of the teachings of Swami Vivekananda in contemporary India. The Ramakrishna Mission Youth Convention at Narottam Nagar concluded with a renewed commitment among the youth to contribute meaningfully to the cause of nation-building.
