GOSSAIGAON, Dec 17: In a bid to drug free society, the 31st Battalion SSB has organised an awareness campaign named ‘Say No to Drugs’ here at the school in Gossaigaon.
The awareness campaign was launched during the inauguration ceremony of Annual Sports Week of Little Star E M High School which started on December 16 and will conclude on December 21.
Paul Miti Kujur, principal of Little Star E M High School warmly welcomed Parag, second-in-command 31st Bn SSB who was the chief guest of the program on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Parag delivered an impactful awareness speech on “Say No to Drugs” among the students present. He again emphasised how to stay away from the addiction to drugs and keep the society drug-free.
This initiative aimed to educate students and athletes about the detrimental effects of drug usage on adolescent psychological health.
“Substance abuse can severely impact an individual’s physical and mental well-being, social relationships, family dynamics, work performance, educational pursuits, and overall quality of life. Potential consequences of substance abuse include organ damage to vital organs such as the heart, brain, and liver,” he added.
Later on, he highlighted the significance of making informed choices and avoiding harmful substances to safeguard one’s health and future.
The event was part of SSB’s ongoing efforts to promote a drug-free environment and to foster a healthier, more informed community. The awareness campaign aligns with SSB’s commitment to safeguarding the nation’s youth and ensuring their holistic development.
