KOKRAJHAR, Sept 5: The scrutiny of nomination papers for the forthcoming BTC Elections 2025 in Kokrajhar district across all 12 constituencies was successfully completed on late Thursday.
In Kokrajhar Sadar sub-division, 49 candidates remain in the fray after scrutiny.
They include 17 candidates in 7-Fakiragram (Open), 7 in 8-Dotma (ST), 7 in 9-Banargaon (ST), 5 in 10-Debargaon (ST), 8 in 11-Baukhungri (ST), and 5 in 12-Salakati (ST).
In Parbatjhora sub-division, scrutiny was conducted for the 1-Parbatjhora (ST) constituency, where 9 candidates remain in the contest.
In Gossaigaon sub-division, 57 candidates were found valid after scrutiny.
This includes 17 in 2-Guma (Open), 11 in 3-Srirampur (Open), 10 in 4-Jamduar (ST), 10 in 5-Soraibil (ST), and 9 in 6-Kachugaon (ST).
However, one nomination from the 2-Guma (Open) constituency was rejected due to defects in the electoral roll entries of the proposer.
As neither the candidate nor his authorised representative was present to clarify, the nomination paper was declared invalid.
The last date for withdrawal of nominations in all constituencies is September 6. Polling will be held on September 22, and counting will take place on September 26.
