86th birth anniversary of Tarun Gogoi observed at Margherita Congress Bhawan

MARGHERITA, Oct 11: Former chief minister of Assam, Tarun Gogoi’s 86th birth anniversary was organised on Tuesday by Margherita Block Congress Committee at Margherita Congress Bhawan.
The programme began with the lighting of earthen lamps before the portrait of Tarun Gogoi by all the Congress leaders of 125 no. Margherita constituency under Tinsukia district.

Margherita Block Congress Committee president, Tara Prasad Dehingia said, “Former chief minister Tarun Gogoi was an ideal politician. During his 15 years of regime as chief minister, many development works were done at Assam for which the people of Assam still remember him.”

After that a sapling plantation programme was held by Avishek Kumar Beldar, the newly appointed president of Margherita Assembly Youth Congress at Congress Bhawan where many saplings were planted in the name of the former chief minister.

Assam Youth Congress Committee State Committee spokesperson, Gourav Sharma; senior Congress leader, Satyendra Prasad; Nozrul Hussain, Devendra Pandey, Jayanti, Abhijit and Aman Khan and other Congress leaders were present during the programme.
