On the occasion, a live telecast of the central programme related to the Viksit Bharat G-RAM-G Bill was arranged. The programme featured an address by the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, delivered from the ICAR Pusa Campus, New Delhi, during which he explained the key provisions of the proposed Bill to farmers across the country.

In addition to the telecast, discussions were held with participants highlighting the significance of National Farmers’ Day and its relevance to the farming community, particularly in the context of rural development and farmer welfare.

It may be mentioned that the Viksit Bharat G-RAM-G Bill, 2025 proposes a new legislative framework in alignment with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, replacing the existing MGNREGA structure. Under the proposed framework, the guaranteed employment for each rural household has been increased to 125 days, thereby strengthening income security in rural areas.

The programme was attended by farmers, faculty members and non-teaching staff of the university.
