Abhayakhuti Murder Case: Three convicted

KOKRAJHAR, April 6: Three accused have been convicted on Wednesday in the Abhayakhuti rape and murder case of two minor girls in Kokrajhar district.

On Wednesday, the Special Court, Kokrajhar pronounced the judgement against the three accused

The family members of the victims had lodged an FIR with Kokrajhar police station post the incident.

Since the incident had taken place, several organisations including students unions and other social organisations had demanded high-level investigation and strict punishment against the accused.

The convicted accused persons have been identified as Parijul Rahman, Nasibul Ali Sheik and Mozammel Sheik of Abhayakhuti.

Public prosecutor, Manjit Ghose said that a judgement into the minor girls rape and murder case of Abhayakhuti in Kokrajhar district was given in a Special Court, Kokrajhar by special judge Chaturbedi and three were found guilty.

He also informed that the court has fixed the punishment hearing and final judgement is on 8th April into rape and murder case.

It may be mentioned here that two minor girls of Abhayakhuti were raped and later murder by perpetrators in Kokrajhar.

Bodies of the two girls were found hanging from a tree at a nearby jungle at Abhayakhuti.

The incident took place on 11th June, 2021.
