DIPHU, May 17: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Assam unit, successfully concluded its intensive three-day organisational meet in Karbi Anglong. The event featured the state working committee meeting on May 15, followed by comprehensive review and planning sessions on May 16 and 17.
The high-level convergence was held at the conference hall of the Arboretum-cum-Craft Centre in Matipung, Diphu.
More than 100 delegates representing various districts and educational institutional units across Assam participated in the three-day event. The primary agenda focused on reviewing the student organisation’s recent activities across college and higher secondary school campuses.
Furthermore, the leadership engaged in extensive deliberations to map out strategic plans and mega programmes for the upcoming 2026 and 2027 academic sessions.
Key areas of focus during the organisational sessions included organisational expansion, with strategies formulated to strengthen the base of ABVP across the state; campus activism, aimed at enhancing student engagement and systematically preparing for student union elections and membership drives through extensive enrolment campaigns to induct new student members in the upcoming session.
The ABVP is widely recognised as a student organisation affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
The three-day brainstorming session saw the active participation of top-tier central and state leadership, who guided discussions on organisational growth and youth empowerment.
Among the key dignitaries present were North Eastern Zonal Organising Secretary Kamal Nayan and Joint Organising Secretary Monjunath Mangalai. The state leadership was represented by state president Rita Moni Baishya, vice president Dr Atur Kiri Engti, State Organising Secretary Anup Kumar and State Secretary Manash Pratim Kalita.
