ADBU tries to woo students to stay in NE; adds new courses

GUWAHATI, July 3: Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) added BSc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration program for the upcoming session 2022-23. Post Covid-19, the hospitality sector is fast recovering and stands to be among the sectors with the highest job opportunities in India and abroad. Other programs in the pipeline are D Pharm and B Pharma awaiting PCI approval. B.Ed and M.Ed is yet another most valued professional course soon to be launched. Notably, ADBU is the only private university with NAAC ‘A’ Grade in Assam and is known for its quality education and placement.
“As Don Bosco completes 100 years of service in north-east India, we are humbled to receive this significant recognition. We would like to retain as many students as we can to study in the north-east with a promise of quality education at par with universities across India and around the globe and NAAC’s ‘A’ grade is a confirmation of our genuine effort in this direction,” expressed Dr Fr Stephen Mavely, the vice-chancellor.
Dr Mavely who has been in the education sector since his early years as the principal of St. Anthony’s college in Shillong, further informed, “To achieve our goal in retaining students in the north-east from varied academic interests, Don Bosco University hopes to enlist new programs every year.”
Further, ADBU recently announced a whopping 4.95 crore worth of scholarships for the 2022-23 session in support of meritorious students and students from economically weaker sections. There are also scholarships for candidates from the north-east who have an excellent sports background. Scholarship details are available at www.dbuniversity.ac.in
