The review meeting aimed to assess the progress of ongoing development programs and schemes in the district.

It brought together key stakeholders, including the additional chief secretary, principal secretary, council secretaries, and departmental heads. The visit forms part of Shamal’s three-day tour of the Dima Hasao district to monitor the implementation of council-led initiatives.

During the meeting, Shamal reviewed the physical and financial status of various flagship programs and other key schemes. He expressed satisfaction with the departments’ efforts and progress while emphasising areas requiring additional focus.

Notably, he highlighted the importance of enhancing food storage capacity to ensure adequate supplies during disasters. He also urged the health department to intensify efforts to promote institutional deliveries, aiming to improve maternal and child healthcare outcomes.
