NAGAON, Aug 24: Several organisations including Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti, Bharatiya Gananatya Sangha, Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad, Kampur Anchalik Yuva Somaj Asomiya Sahitya Sanmilani, Kampur Print Media Association and others on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma seeking adequate compensations for the flood-hit families of the greater Kampur areas.
Besides, the organisations also sought immediate repair of all the river embankments of Nishari, Kapili, Haria and Borpani rivers which were breached during the recent waves of flood water under Kampur revenue circle.
In the memorandum, the organisations also demanded sufficient free supplies of seeds of various crops for the farmers of the areas for the winter season as the farmers were not able to cultivate any crops in the summer due to unusual devastation caused by the flood water this time.
Raju Bora, state president of KMSS; Mulan Laskar, vice president, Bharatiya Gananaitya Sangha, Nagaon unit; AJYCP local leader Saitya Bora; Subharam Mazumder, president of Kampur Print Media Association and other were present during the submission of the memorandum, a release stated.
