MORIGAON, December 3: As the 2026 Assembly election draws closer, the Asom Jatiya Parishad (AJP) has intensified its preparations to contest seats across Assam. In a bid to strengthen its organisational base, AJP president Lurinjyoti Gogoi on Tuesday inaugurated the party’s new office at Morigaon town.
With less than four months remaining before the state goes to the polls, AJP along with other political parties has begun ramping up its groundwork and strategy. Addressing party members and supporters, Gogoi stressed the need for collective support from all sections of society to ensure the party secures a meaningful presence in the upcoming election.
The inaugural event saw the presence of several key leaders, including former minister Rajen Gohain, AJP secretary Jagadish Bhuyan, Central Committee joint secretary Bani Das, Morigaon district acting president Simal Deuri and many others.
The party leadership expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated office will serve as a crucial hub for election coordination, outreach and campaign planning in the district.
