MARGHERITA, April 8: On Monday, Lurin Jyoti Gogoi, the president of Assam Jatiya Parishad and the candidate representing the United Opposition Forum (UOF) for the 13th Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency, embarked on an election campaign across various locales within the 83rd Margherita Constituency.
Accompanying Lurinjyoti Gogoi were notable figures such as Sanjay Kumar Deb, the secretary of the Assam Jatiya Parishad Central Committee, senior Congress leader Manoranjan Borgohain from Margherita, Anita Das Mahanta from Assam Jatiya Parishad, Suresh Bhowmij, president of Jatiyo Chah Shakti Central Committee, Avishek Beldar, President of Margherita Assembly Youth Congress Committee, Tara Prasad Dehingia, president of Margherita Block Congress Committee, Gaurav Sharma, general secretary of Tinsukia District Youth Congress Committee, and many other leaders from the United Opposition Forum (UOF).
The welcoming gesture for Lurinjyoti Gogoi was marked by a splendid motorcycle rally, commencing from Lekhapani to Jagun Bazaar.
During the course of the election campaign, Lurinjyoti Gogoi visited several areas within the 83rd Margherita Constituency including Jagun, Kothasema Model Village, Udaipur, Hasak Rangamancha, Ledo Bazar Basti, Kumarpatty Gaon Panchayat, Margherita Bazar, and Margherita Segubari.
A large gathering convened at Udaipur Dehing Patkai Samonboi Khetra, Jagun Bazaar, and Hasak Rangamancha where over 3000 individuals from all corners assembled to listen to Lurinjyoti Gogoi’s speech.
During the campaign, over 500 people from the Jagun region pledged their support to Assam Jatiya Parishad.
In his address, Lurinjyoti Gogoi criticised the BJP leadership, highlighting the people’s disillusionment with false assurances and promises. He expressed concerns over chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s management of funds, alleging a burden of over Rs 1,50,000 crore in loans. Additionally, he raised issues such as inflation, unemployment, border disputes, and alleged financial improprieties by the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Lurinjyoti Gogoi urged the electorate to rally behind the INDIA Bloc candidate, emphasising the critical importance of the upcoming Lok Sabha election to safeguard the constitution and democracy.
During the campaign in Margherita, Raijor Dal president and MLA of Sibsagar LAC, Akhil Gogoi, joined Lurinjyoti Gogoi in his endeavours.
