AJYCP demands solution to Margherita FRU problems

MARGHERITA, March 5: The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) Margherita Regional committee on Wednesday for more than two hours staged a protest in Margherita, demanding a permanent solution to the ongoing problems at the Margherita First Referral Unit (FRU) hospital.

Protesters warned that if their demands were not met, they would permanently block NH 315 road and intensify their agitation.

More than 100 members of Asom Jatiyotabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad(AJYCP) Margherita Regional committee from North Margherita Rangamancha to Segunbari Tiniali Margherita and demonstrated near the office of Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma and urged Assam government health department to take immediate action.

AJYCP leaders accused the present BJP led government of Assam neglecting the hospital’s poor infrastructure, staff shortages and lack of essential medical facilities.

They demanded urgent reforms to improve healthcare services in the region.

Kanchan Bora, vice president of Asom Jatiyotabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad(AJYCP)  Tinsukia District Committee, said that Assam government must act immediately and warned that they would continue their protest until the hospital problems were resolved.

Margherita FRU hospital has been facing staff shortages and inadequate medical equipment, affecting healthcare services for local residents for which AJYCP Margherita Regional committee protest has put pressure on authorities to act quickly.
