BISWANATH CHARIALI, Dec 27: The First All Assam Children’s One-act Play Competition, Biswanath Chariali was held in the auditorium of Amiya Bhawan, Bhir Gaon recently at Biswanath Chariali from December 24 to 25.
21 teams from different districts of the state participated in the competition and the young artistes kept the audience virtually spell bound for two days with their brilliant performances. In the competition, ‘Ki Je Khelimeli’ which was performed by Panchataraka, Biswanath Chariali was adjudged as the best play group while ‘Sukhei Sukh Bhogei Bhog’, performed by Jonaki Natya Gosthi, Sootea and ‘Khurekhetrat Khelimeli’, performed by Puberun Moinaparijat, Narayanpur were adjudged second and third best play groups respectively. Likewise, the ‘Jury’s Special Award’ was given to the play ‘Topani Rojar Bichar’ performed by Navasistri, Puranigudam. Abhigyan Rajbanshi who acted in the play ‘Horenor Huchori’ (Biswanath Chariali) was adjudged as the best actor, Anurag Kashyap (Rojai Bhal Dekhe Jak) Jorhat, was adjudged as second best actor and Robert Hazarika (Sukhei Sukh, Bhogei Bhog), Sootea was adjudged as the third best actor. Gorima Hazarika (Kurukhetrat Khelimeli), Narayanpur was adjudged as the best actress while Krishnangi Khaund (Horenor Huchori), Biswanath Chariali and Dayani Phukan (Bhaonate Bhaodi), Bedeti were adjudged as second and third best actresses respectively. The other results of the competition are the best comedian actor Chinmoy Hazarika (Ki Je Khelimeli), best supporting actor Pritom Bora (Natak Nakaro), best supporting actress Nivismita Medhi (Ki Je Khelimeli). Tridib Hazarika, bagged the best director’s award for the play ‘Ki Je Khelimeli’, Birendra Thakur, playwright of the play ‘Sukhi Sorai’ bagged the best script award in the competition.
