All Schools For Disabled To Have Same Daily Food Menu: Pijush Hazarika

JORHAT, Aug 4: Parliamentary Affairs, Water Resources, Information & Public Relations; Printing & Stationery; Social Justice & Empowerment minister Pijush Hazarika on Thursday announced that the menu for meals  in the 10 government run schools for disabled in the state would be the same.

Hazarika who inspected the two institutes, Jorhat Blind School and the Deaf and Dumb School, on Thursday later told newspersons that he had come here to know about the prevailing conditions of the institutes.

Stating that after he was allotted the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, the minister said that he has started carrying out inspections of government run institutes across the state, of which there were about 10, to get a firsthand knowledge regarding infrastructure and problems the institutes faced.

Replying to a query about food served to the inmates of the hostels in such institutes, Hazarika said that the government had decided to have a common menu for the food to be served daily in all the institutes.

He said that work in this regard had started and soon it would be implemented.

Hazarika, who visited the classrooms of both the schools and interacted with the students and teachers, assured that he would resolve the problems including filling up the vacant posts of teachers and strengthening the infrastructure.

Mariani MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi, Jorhat deputy commissioner Ashok Kumar Barman, Social Justice and Empowerment director Kishore Thakuria and former MLA and Jorhat district BJP president Hemanta Kalita accompanied the minister during his visits.
