Alumni meet at Assamese Dept of Deomornoi Degree College

MANGALDAI, Nov 20: Deomornoi Degree College’s Department of Assamese held alumni meet on Monday, attended by over fifty former students, faculty and Principal Dr Gitali Kalita. Dr Moon Mani Devi, Head of the Department, highlighted the importance of alumni engagement, seminars and workshops. The event, chaired by Anita Devi, began with a cultural performance by Assistant Professor Pallab Baruah, who also proposed launching an alumni-student magazine named Setu.

Alumni including Papari Saharia, Charusmita Boro and others shared their experiences. The departmental magazine Sparsha (2025–26) was released by Dr Kalita, who praised the department’s initiatives. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Assistant Professor Binoy Bhusan Sarma.
