The book, penned by Arup Kumar Dutta, chronicles the life of Assam warrior Lachit Barphukan and has been translated into 23 Indian languages.

Sarma revealed that the book’s concept was initially proposed by Shah. He also announced plans to distribute the books across all states post the Lok Sabha elections. Sarma thanked Shah for the idea and all those who contributed to the translation of the book.

He also mentioned that a statue of Lachit Barphukan, currently under construction at Hollongapar in Jorhat, is nearing completion. The Assam Government hopes to have Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurate the statue in February.

Additionally, a drama on Lachit Barphukan involving over 5000 artists is in the works for the coming months.
