DIPHU, May 12: The All Party Hills Leaders Conference (APHLC) has said the SEC cannot conduct the MAC election.

Spokesperson of the APHLC, the party which is very vocal about the framing of rules of KAAC and preparation of separate electoral rolls, Angtong Engti Kathar said that the SEC has no authority over the KAAC for the conduct of the election and it has forcefully declared it.
“The APHLC is compelled to contest the election with the sole purpose of correcting the voter lists of the KAAC,” he said.
After the declaration of the date for the KAAC election, the Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee (KADCC) has extended the date for submission of application for seeking party tickets to May 14 till 3 pm.
