Arms, Ammo Recovered In Sonitpur District

Tezpur, Sept 7: A huge consignment of arms and explosives was recovered on Wednesday morning at Belsiri area under Missamari Police Station in Sonitpur District during an operation conducted by the Sonitpur Police.

Acting on a tip off an operation was conducted in the Belsiri area along the Assam-Arunachal Border.

During the operation 6  handmade pistol,  1 handmade gun, 1 factory made pistol, AK 1 magazine, 6  pistol magazine, 2 nos 36 grenade, 82 nos empty case,  22 kg explosive (brown), 1.6 kg explosive (dark brown), black explosive 1.5 kg , 4 nos detonator , 6 fuse , 3 nos 9mm live ammunition  80 nos  5.56 mm live ammunition, pen pistol, 110 nos  AK Live ammunition, 32 nos 7.62 live ammunition of LMG, pen pistol were recovered.
