Assam Brahmin Samaj celebrates Guru Purnima with workshop on Gayatri Mantra

MORIGAON, July 6: Assam Brahmin Samaj celebrated Guru Purnima Day with a day-long program at Madhupur Laxminarayan Temple in Bishwanath. The event included a workshop on the Gayatri Mantra, organised by the Sonitpur District Brahmin Samaj under the initiative of president Bhaben Sharma. The workshop was inaugurated by former president Guluk Sharma Shastri, and former president Sunil Kumar Goswami of Assam Brahmin Samaj was the keynote speaker.

During the workshop, it was highlighted that Vedamata Gayatri holds great importance in Indian Sanatan philosophy. Gayatri is considered the mother of the Supreme Brahman and has the power to increase human strength and bring welfare to spiritual pursuits. The proper recitation and understanding of the Gayatri Mantra is emphasised as it helps in achieving mental balance and determination, leading to spiritual progress.

The event was attended by the president of Assam Brahmin Samaj Khagen Goswami as the chief guest, and the secretary general Tutul Barthakur. The importance of reciting the Gayatri Mantra correctly was emphasised for obtaining true power and for the reformation of society. The younger generation was encouraged to play a stable role in managing society.

The program also included the hoisting of the organisation’s flag by president Khagen Goswami and paid tributes by various individuals. Vice president Kamakhya Sharma, zonal secretary Prabhat Goswami, and other office bearers and members of the district actively participated in the program.
