JORHAT, June 16: Two thieves on Wednesday night broke into a grocery shop owned by Amar Jyoti Sarmah at Tarajan locality beside the AT Road here by breaking the shutter lock and took away the cash box.
The incident of breaking the shutter locks of the shop and one youth entering inside while the other waiting outside, and later both running away with the cash box was captured in a CCTV camera. The duo after taking the cash from the box dumped it nearby which was found on Thursday.

A police team arrived at the spot and inspected the shop and started an investigation.
It may be mentioned here that in recent times several incidents of burglary and two-wheeler lifting had been reported with one incident happening to be stealing of a motorcycle of a policeman from the parking area meant for staff in front of Jorhat SP’s official residence.
The said incident of a Pulsar motorbike belonging to a constable happened on June 1 as he found his bike missing from the parking lot on front of SP’s residence and after not being able to find out the bike the constable lodged an FIR at Jorhat Police Station in this regard.
